StyroSpray 1000 Hard coating for EPS foam.

StyroSpray® 1000 is a simple to apply hard coating for various types of rigid foam. It is a premix coating, which can be hand brushed, rolled or spray applied with ordinary painting equipment. It provides a strong, lightweight uniformly smooth appearance, which can be coated with any type of solvent or water base paint. StyroSpray crates a hard plastic shell over EPS foam for fabrication of signs, decorative themeing and concrete molds. It can also be used to laminate fabrics to EPS foam structures or to harden cloth shapes. It seals and waterproofs hot wire cut or carved EPS foam shapes for outdoor installations. StyroSpray 1000 can be applied with the same type of equipment used to apply ordinary water base house paints. This product only cures when exposed to moisture in the environment, it becomes dry to the touch in 1 hour after spraying. The mixed StyroSpray 1000 will not cure in the spray gun, only when it is sprayed onto your foam surface does it begin to rapidly cure. It becomes dry to touch in about one hour, you can apply another coat every 20 to 30 minutes. It is possible to achieve very high thickness/strength with multiple coats applied the same day. It will full cure overnight and be ready for paint finishing the next day. This product provides the same type of thick strong finish as the fast set, heated, high pressure 2 component plural products. StyroSpray 1000 eliminates the need for expensive high pressure spraying equipment to apply hard coating to EPS foam shapes. 

This product is 100% solids product, it contains no water or solvents to evaporate away. Most water and solvent base paints contain 35 to 50% water or solvent which is lost. The coverage of StyroSpray 1000 is nearly twice as much as other (water or solvent base) coatings you may be using, making the cost of our StyroSpray 1000 coating similar to that of the lowest priced water based house paints. We have also found this product works well for coating fabric to create strong light weight fabric reinforced structures and formed plastic shells. StyroSpray 1000 contains no solvents or VOCs which can damage the environment. 

StyroSpray 1000 is formulated to be cleaned from spraying equipment with a product named d-limonene. It is orange peal oil, a by product from the commercial manufacture of orange juice. It is nonhazardous and biodegradable in the environment, and has a nice odor. it is also reusable, simply filter it through cloth and reuse over and over again to clean equipment. We will soon have the orange oil available in various quantities for sale, in some areas of the country you may be able to get it from a local supplier.
