After machine mixing, SprayGel
40 and UraGel 760 immediately thicken to a
non-sag consistency for application onto ver tical or overhead
surfaces. They are formulated for application with a simple
low pressure-dispensing machine. Clean up should be done with
solvents such as mineral spirits, Methyl Ethyl Ketone (M.E.K.)
or acetone, never use water to clean when working with these
products.
SprayGel 40 is a
flexible, spray-on product for making rubber molds from
objects or wall surfaces that cannot be placed in standard box
molds (any 3 dimensional object or vertical wall surface). SprayGel
40 can be sprayed onto vertical or overhead surfaces
without sagging or running. In 24-hours it cures to a tough
rubber mold, ready to use. Before applying SprayGel 40,
surfaces should be coated and sealed with silicone mold
release or Parfilm mold release and must be dry to prevent
unwanted bonding. Mold releasing agents must be used to insure
easy removal of SprayGel 40 rubber from master.
UraGel 760 is well
suited for machine spraying hard plastic shells from rubber
molds. It can be sprayed into rubber molds up to 1/2-inch
thick in a single application. When fully cured UraGel 760
forms a rigid "fiberglass like" polymer which is
easily sanded or machined to final form. UraGel 760
is recommended as a rigid Mother mold back up for flexible SprayGel
40 molds. Very thick sections can be created in a
single material application.
Storage/Shelf Life
SprayGel 40 & UraGel
760 liquids should be stored in the original, unopened
containers at temperatures between 64°F and 86°F (18°C and
30°C). Shelf life of materials when kept in unopened, sealed
containers at the recommended storage temperature is six
months. Container should not be opened until ready for
immediate use. When resealing opened containers, purge with Dry-It
(available from Industrial Polymers, Inc.). |
