Primer 200 is a single component, moisture cured urethane elastomer primer specifically formulated to enhance the adhesion of urethane elastomer coatings to concrete substrates. Primer 200 has a long overcoat window as well as optimum adhesion characteristics.

It automatically begins curing when exposed to air, no mixing is required.  Primer 200 is formulated to be used with our UraSeal 210 concrete crack and expansion joint sealant product.  UraSeal 210 is a fuel resistant.

Expansion joint sealant product used in airport runway operations or applications where a fuel resistant sealant/coating is required. Primer 200 is applied directly to clean concrete surface by brush or roller, wait 1 hour before application of UraSeal 210 into concrete crack or expansion joint. UraSeal 210 can be poured into concrete expansion joint after surfaces are primed and prepared.  See coatings and sealants product page for more information on UraSeal 210 product. Primer 200 contains VOC solvents and is classified as flammable material.

Application

NOTE: LIQUID CONTAINS FLAMMABLE SOLVENTS; KEEP AWAY FROM OPEN FLAME.

Primer 200 is designed to be applied with a brush or roller application. Normally no thinning is needed but if it is required, use Toluene.

  1. Do not apply over wet substrates or when inclement weather is imminent.
  2. Do not apply when relative humidity exceeds 95% or when the temperature is in excess of 100˚F or below 38˚F.
  3. Do not apply without adequate air exchange and ventilation in enclosed areas.

Clean Up

Dispose of all empty Primer 200 component containers in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Empty component containers can be rendered non-hazardous by rinsing the containers with a small amount of mixed material and allowing the solvents to evaporate. The containers will then contain non-hazardous cured urethane.

Storage and Shelf Life

Primer 200 components are shipped from the factory in sealed containers that are purged with dry nitrogen. The containers should be kept tightly sealed and stored in a cool and dry area that is protected from direct sunlight and moisture. Storage temperatures should not exceed 80°F. Shelf life of factory sealed containers stored under these conditions is one year. Containers that have been opened should be resealed immediately after material has been removed in order to prevent moisture contamination and solvent evaporation. Resin component containers should be purged with dry nitrogen if the contents are not used within 24 hours after opening.
